Bombay Blossom is the articulation of a long-running affair with designing, love for handlooms, fabrics, exclusive jewellery and the play of vivid colors and patterns that the rich landscape of India has in abundance.

A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, and it rings true for me. My engagement with fashion began early in life. As a kid, the budding fashionista in me never lost a chance to experiment with clothes, colors, and combinations with the mirror stepping up as the approving ally. Numerous trips to handloom exhibitions and places of architectural relevance coupled with many evenings spent listening to animated discussions on design intricacies of the handloom pieces further accentuated my fascination with designing. Over time, this fascination developed into a passion when I realized, I had a knack for designing and zest for fashion!

With a Management degree in the kitty and a background in E-Commerce, I felt ready to transform my passion into a professional pursuit. But there was still time before I made my foray into fashion. The demands of my job introduced me to the vast expanse of the country which helped my cause as it came with the added incentive of traveling. Travelling took me far and wide and I experienced first hand the lush cultural tapestry and the rich legacy of indigenous textiles, embroideries, and crafts that made the land such a unique experience. This further heightened my aesthetic sensibilities. Supporting the endeavours of small enterprises dedicated to promoting struggling weavers and handicraft artisans provided the initial rush. There, I seamlessly straddled the dual roles of a design curator and a designer, doing my bit to bring to the fore the ethnic elegance of traditional handmade craft designs of our rich but neglected weavers and artisans.

Finally, the moment came when I felt primed to amalgamate my professional learnings and passion for designing and embark on my entrepreneurial journey. Leaning on my savings, with a laptop and internet and backing my entrepreneurial instincts- I set off. The journey so far has been thrilling and challenging in equal measure. Despite the steep learning curve, the desire to tell the stories of our talented craftsman and their inspiring creations has kept me going. Our gifted artisans deserve their due and the world needs to hear the folklores and earthy tales weaved into their varied and unique creations.
